Hadith No: 1 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Allah pledged Himself when He decreed the Creation. He wrote in His book, which is with Him, that His mercy prevails over His wrath. This was related by Muslim, al-Bukhari, an-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah.
Hadith No: 2 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Abu Huraira narrates this hadith. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah Almighty said: ‘The son of Adam denied Me and had no right to do so. He reviled Me and had no right to do so. His denial is when he said, ‘He will not remake me as He made me at first’. But it is just as easy for Me to remake him as it was to create him in the beginning. His reviling is when he said, ‘Allah has taken to Himself a son’. But I am the only One, the Everlasting Refuge. No one has begotten me, nor have I begotten anyone, and there is no one who can be compared to me. This means resurrecting me after death. It was related by al-Bukhari and an-Nasa’i.
Hadith No: 3 Narrated/Authority of Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhaniyy
The Messenger of Allah led the morning prayer for us at al-Hudaybiyah after it rained during the night. After he finished, he faced the people and asked them if they knew what their Lord had said. They replied that Allah and his Messenger knew best. He explained that this morning, one person became a believer in Allah and one person became a disbeliever. The one who believed said that we were given rain because of Allah’s mercy, while the one who disbelieved said that we were given rain because of a specific star. The Prophet then explained that the one who believed in Allah was also a disbeliever in the stars, while the one who believed in the stars was a disbeliever in Allah. This hadith highlights that even though people may think that natural phenomena like rain are caused by something specific, it is actually Allah who controls everything. This hadith is related by al-Bukhari, Malik, and an-Nasa’i.
Hadith No: 4 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah said, “Allah said that He is Time. He controls the night and the day.” The Almighty is in charge of everything, so complaining about misfortunes caused by Time is like complaining about Him. This narration is found in both al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Hadith No: 5 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Muslim reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah (glorified and exalted be He) said: ‘I am self-sufficient. I do not need an associate. Therefore, anyone who does an action not solely for My sake but for someone else’s as well, I will renounce that action and attribute it to the person whom they associated with Me.'” This hadith was also reported by Ibn Majah.
Hadith No: 6 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
I heard the Messenger of Allah say that the first person to be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who died as a martyr. He will be brought before Allah and Allah will show him His blessings, and he will recognize them. Allah will ask him, “What did you do with these blessings?” He will answer, “I fought for You until I died as a martyr.” Allah will respond, “You are lying. You only fought so that people would think you are brave.” And it was indeed said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged on his face until he is thrown into Hellfire. Another person will be a man who has learned religious knowledge, taught it, and recited the Quran. He will be brought before Allah and Allah will show him His blessings, and he will recognize them. Allah will ask him, “What did you do with these blessings?” He will answer, “I learned religious knowledge, taught it, and recited the Quran for Your sake.” Allah will respond, “You are lying. You only studied religious knowledge so that people would think you are learned, and you recited the Quran so that people would think you are a reciter.” And it was indeed said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged on his face until he is thrown into Hellfire. Another person will be a man who Allah made rich and gave him all kinds of wealth. He will be brought before Allah and Allah will show him His blessings, and he will recognize them. Allah will ask him, “What did you do with these blessings?” He will answer, “I spent money wherever You wanted it to be spent, without holding back.” Allah will respond, “You are lying. You only spent money so that people would think you are generous.” And it was indeed said. Then he will be ordered to be dragged on his face until he is thrown into Hellfire.
Hadith No: 7 Narrated/Authority of Uqbah ibn Amir
The messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Your Lord is happy with a shepherd who is on top of a mountain and calls for prayer and prays. Then Allah (glorified and exalted be He) will say, ‘Look at this servant of Mine, he calls for prayer and prays; he greatly respects Me. I have forgiven My servant [his sins] and I have let him enter Paradise.’ ” An-Nasa’i related this with a good chain of authorities.
Hadith No: 8 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Someone asked Abu Hurayrah, “Even though we are behind the imam, is a prayer performed by someone who has not recited the Essence of the Qur’an during it incomplete?” Abu Hurayrah replied, “Recite it to yourself. I have heard the Prophet say, ‘Allah has divided prayer between Himself and His servant into two halves. The servant shall have what he has asked for. When the servant says, ‘Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds,’ Allah says, ‘My servant has praised Me.’ When he says, ‘The Merciful, the Compassionate,’ Allah says, ‘My servant has extolled Me.’ When he says, ‘Master of the Day of Judgement,’ Allah says, ‘My servant has glorified Me.’ On one occasion, Allah said, ‘My servant has submitted to My power.’ When he says, ‘It is You we worship and it is You we ask for help,’ Allah says, ‘This is between Me and My servant. My servant shall have what he has asked for.’ When he says, ‘Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favors, not of those against whom You are angry, nor of those who are astray,’ Allah says, ‘This is for My servant. My servant shall have what he has asked for.'”
Hadith No: 9 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Allah (mighty and sublime be He) holds people accountable for their prayers on the Day of Resurrection. If their prayers are in order, they will succeed; if not, they will fail. If there is something missing in their obligatory prayers, Allah will check if they have any extra prayers that can fill the gap. Then, all their other actions will be judged in the same way. This was related by at-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah, and Ahmad.
Hadith No: 10 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says, “Fasting belongs to Me, and I am the One who rewards it. A person gives up sex, food, and drink for My sake.” Fasting is like a shield, and those who fast experience two joys: one when they break their fast, and one when they meet their Lord. Allah values the change in breath of those who fast more than the scent of musk. This information comes from various sources, including al-Bukhari, Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah.
Hadith No: 11 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said to spend on charity, and in return, He will spend on you. This was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Hadith No: 12 Narrated/Authority of Abu Masud Al-Ansari
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that a man from before them was brought to account. They found nothing good except that he used to interact with people and, being wealthy, he would tell his servants to let off someone who couldn’t pay back their debt. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Allah said, “We are more worthy than you to be that generous. Let him go.” This was mentioned by Muslim, as well as al-Bukhari and an-Nasa’i.
Hadith No: 13 Narrated/Authority of Adi bin Hatim
I was with the Messenger of Allah. Two men came to him, one was very poor and the other had been robbed. The Messenger of Allah said, “Soon, caravans will be able to travel from Mecca without guards. And there will come a time when someone will try to give charity but won’t find anyone to accept it. Eventually, one of you will stand before Allah with no barriers or translators. Allah will ask, ‘Didn’t I give you wealth?’ The person will say yes. Allah will then ask, ‘Didn’t I send you a messenger?’ Again, the person will say yes. The person will look to the right and see only Hell-fire. Then, they will look to the left and see only Hell-fire. So, each person should protect themselves from Hell-fire, even if it means giving half a date or saying something kind.” This was related by al-Bukhari.
Hadith No: 14 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
According to the Prophet, Allah has extra angels who look for gatherings where Allah’s name is being praised. They join the gatherings and wrap their wings around each other, filling the space between them and the lowest heaven. When the people leave, the angels go back to heaven. Then Allah asks the angels where they came from, even though He already knows. The angels say they came from some servants on Earth who were glorifying Allah, exalting Him, witnessing that there is no god but Him, praising Him, and asking for favors. Allah asks what the servants are asking for. The angels say they’re asking for Paradise, even though they haven’t seen it. Allah says if they had seen Paradise, it would be even better. The angels say the servants also ask for protection from Allah’s Hell-fire, even though they haven’t seen it. Allah says if they had seen Hell-fire, it would be even worse. The angels say the servants also ask for forgiveness. Allah says He has forgiven them and given them what they asked for, and He has protected them. The angels mention one servant who was passing by and joined the gathering, even though he has sinned a lot. Allah says He has forgiven him too. He says anyone who sits with such people will not suffer. This was told by Muslim, al-Bukhari, at-Tirmidhi, and an-Nasa’i.
Hadith No: 15 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Allah the Almighty said: “I am what My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he mentions Me. If he mentions Me to himself, I mention him to Myself. And if he mentions Me in a group, I mention him in a better group. If he gets close to Me a little, I get close to him a lot. And if he comes to Me walking, I come to him quickly.” Another way to understand this is: “I am what My servant expects Me to be.” This means that Allah’s forgiveness and acceptance of repentance depends on His servant truly believing that He is forgiving and merciful. But just having that belief without doing the right actions would be mocking Allah. This was told by al-Buhkari, Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn-Majah.
Hadith No: 16 Narrated/Authority of Ibn Abbas
According to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Allah said that He has recorded both good and bad deeds. If someone intends to do a good deed but doesn’t do it, Allah counts it as a complete good deed. But if they intend and do a good deed, Allah counts it as ten to seven hundred times, or even more, good deeds. On the other hand, if someone intends to do a bad deed but doesn’t do it, Allah counts it as a complete good deed. However, if they intend and do a bad deed, Allah counts it as one bad deed. This was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
Hadith No: 17 Narrated/Authority of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari
According to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Allah says the following: “I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden among you, so do not oppress one another. All of you are astray except those I have guided, so seek guidance from Me and I will guide you. All of you are hungry except those I have fed, so seek food from Me and I will feed you. All of you are naked except those I have clothed, so seek clothing from Me and I will clothe you. You sin by night and by day, and I forgive all sins, so seek forgiveness from Me and I will forgive you. You cannot harm Me nor benefit Me. Even if all of you were as pious or wicked as the most pious or wicked person among you, it would not change My kingdom. If all of you were to ask Me for something and I gave each of you what you asked for, it would not decrease what I have, just like a needle does not decrease the sea when put into it. I judge your actions and reward you accordingly. So, praise Allah if you find good and blame no one but yourself if you find otherwise.” This was related by Muslim (also by at-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah).
Hadith No: 18 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Someone said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, Allah (mighty and sublime) will say, ‘O son of Adam, I was sick and you didn’t visit Me.’ The person will say, ‘O Lord, how can I visit You when You are the Lord of everything?’ Allah will say, ‘Didn’t you know that My servant So-and-so was sick and you didn’t visit him? Didn’t you know that if you had visited him, you would have found Me with him?’ O son of Adam, I asked you for food and you didn’t give Me any.’ The person will say, ‘O Lord, how can I feed You when You are the Lord of everything?’ Allah will say, ‘Didn’t you know that My servant So-and-so asked you for food and you didn’t give him any? Didn’t you know that if you had fed him, you would have found the reward with Me? O son of Adam, I asked you for something to drink and you didn’t give Me anything to drink.’ The person will say, ‘O Lord, how can I give You something to drink when You are the Lord of everything?’ Allah will say, ‘My servant So-and-so asked you for something to drink and you didn’t give him anything. If you had given him something to drink, you would have found the reward with Me.'” This was recorded by Muslim.

You will say, ‘I was afraid of people.’ Then Allah will say, ‘You should have feared Me instead.'” This is from a reliable source, Ibn Majah.
Hadith No: 23 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah said that Allah will say on the Day of Resurrection, “Where are those who love one another because of Me? Today I will give them shade in My shade, because it will be a day without any shade except Mine.” This hadith was reported by al-Bukhari and Malik.
Hadith No: 24 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
According to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), if Allah loves a person, He tells Gabriel to also love that person. Gabriel then announces in heaven that Allah loves that person, and the inhabitants of heaven also love that person. As a result, that person is accepted on earth. On the other hand, if Allah dislikes a person, He tells Gabriel to also dislike that person. Gabriel announces in heaven that Allah dislikes that person, and the inhabitants of heaven also dislike that person. As a result, that person is disliked on earth. This hadith was reported by Muslim, al-Bukhari, Malik, and at-Tirmidhi.
Hadith No: 25 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said the following: “Anyone who shows enmity towards someone devoted to Me, I will declare war against them. My servant does not come close to Me with anything I love more than the religious duties I have enjoined upon them, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with additional works so that I will love them. When I love them, I become their hearing, their seeing, their hand, and their foot. If they were to ask something of Me, I would surely give it to them. And if they were to seek refuge in Me, I would surely grant it to them. I hesitate more about taking the soul of My faithful servant than anything else: they hate death and I hate harming them.” This was related by al-Bukhari.
Hadith No: 26 Narrated/Authority of Abu Umamah
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said that Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: “I most favor a believer who is poor and prays a lot. This person is devoted to worshiping their Lord and has obeyed Him in their heart. They are not well-known among people and their sustenance is just enough to get by, but they remain patient.” Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) rapped his hand and said: “This person will die early, with few mourners and little wealth.” This means they didn’t show off their obedience. At-Tirmidhi, Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and Ibn Majah reported this, and their sources are reliable.
Hadith No: 27 Narrated/Authority of Masruq
Abdullah (Ibn Masud) was asked about this verse: “Do not think those who died for Allah are dead. They are alive with their Lord, provided for.” He replied that they asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it. The Prophet said, “Their souls are inside green birds with lanterns hanging from the Throne. They roam freely in Paradise and can go wherever they want. They take shelter in the lanterns. Then, their Lord looks at them and asks, ‘Do you want anything?’ They reply, ‘Why would we want anything when we can freely roam in Paradise?’ This happens three times. When they think they won’t be asked again, they say, ‘O Lord, we want our souls to be put back in our bodies so we can fight for You once more.’ And when Allah sees that they don’t need anything, He lets them be.” This was related by Muslim. It was also mentioned by at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah.

Hadith No: 30 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said something important. Allah said, “If My servant wants to meet Me, I want to meet him. And if he doesn’t want to meet Me, I don’t want to meet him.” Here is an explanation of this important statement: Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Prophet of Allah a question. She asked, “Is it because we all don’t like death? Is that why?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, “No, that’s not the reason. It’s because when a believer hears about Allah’s mercy, approval, and Paradise, he wants to meet Allah, and Allah wants to meet him. But when an unbeliever hears about Allah’s punishment and displeasure, he doesn’t want to meet Allah, and Allah doesn’t want to meet him.” This information is from the books of al-Bukhari and Malik. The same version is also in the book of Muslim.
Hadith No: 31 Narrated/Authority of Jundub
A man once said that Allah would not forgive someone. But then Allah said, “Who is swearing that I won’t forgive them? I have forgiven that person and canceled your own good deeds.” Another Hadith, mentioned by Abu Dawud, tells us that this person was actually a godly man. But by presuming to say that Allah wouldn’t forgive someone, all his previous good deeds became worthless. This Hadith was also shared by Muslim.
Hadith No: 32 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Once, a man committed a great sin against himself. When he was near death, he told his sons to burn his body after his death, then crush his ashes and scatter them in the sea. He believed that if his Lord took possession of him, he would punish him like no one else. So, his sons did as he asked. However, Allah commanded the earth to bring him back, and he was brought back to life. Allah asked him why he did what he did. The man replied that he was afraid of Allah, and because of his fear, Allah forgave him. This story is mentioned in Muslim, al-Bukhari, an-Nasai, and Ibn Majah.
Hadith No: 33 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Prophet reported that a servant committed a sin. The servant asked Allah to forgive the sin. Allah said that the servant knows there is a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah the Almighty said: ‘O son of Adam, if you call upon Me and ask of Me, I will forgive you for what you have done. I will not mind. O son of Adam, even if your sins reach the sky, and you ask forgiveness of Me, I will forgive you. O son of Adam, if you come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth, and you do not attribute partners to Me, I will bring you great forgiveness.'” This hadith is related by at-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). The chain of authority is reliable.

This Hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi, and Abu Dawud. In another version by Muslim, the Hadith ends with the words: “And this continues until dawn breaks.”
Hadith No: 36 Narrated/Authority of Anas
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that on the Day of Resurrection, the believers will gather and ask someone to intercede for them with their Lord. They will go to Adam and ask for his intercession, reminding him that he is the Father of mankind and that Allah created him with His Hand. They will also mention how Allah made His angels bow down to Adam and taught him the names of everything. However, Adam will say that he is not able to intercede and will feel ashamed because of his past mistakes. He will direct them to Noah, the first messenger sent by Allah to the people on earth. But Noah will also decline to intercede, mentioning that he once asked something of his Lord without proper knowledge. Feeling ashamed, he will advise them to go to Abraham, the Friend of the Merciful. Abraham, too, will say that he is not able to intercede and will suggest that they go to Moses. Moses, a servant with whom Allah spoke and to whom He gave the Torah, will also decline, mentioning a life for a life as the reason. Ashamed in front of his Lord, Moses will then tell them to go to Jesus, Allah’s servant and messenger. Jesus will also say that he is not able to intercede and will direct them to Muhammad, a servant whom Allah has forgiven for all his past and future mistakes. Finally, the believers will come to Muhammad, who will seek permission from his Lord and be granted it. Muhammad will then see his Lord and prostrate himself. After some time, it will be said to him to raise his head, ask, speak, and intercede, and his intercession will be accepted. Muhammad will praise his Lord and then intercede, with Allah setting a limit on the number of people he can admit into Paradise. Muhammad will then return to his Lord, bow down as before, and intercede again, with Allah setting another limit. This process will repeat for a third and fourth time. Muhammad will then say that the only ones left in Hell-fire are those whom the Qur’an has confined and who will remain there for eternity. Those who have sincerely said “There is no god but Allah” and have goodness in their hearts, even as small as a barley-corn, will come out of Hell-fire. Likewise, those who have goodness in their hearts, even as small as a grain of wheat or an atom, will also be freed from Hell-fire. This narration is related by al-Bukhari, Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah.
Hadith No: 37 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah said: ‘I have prepared something for my righteous servants that nobody has seen or heard, and nobody has even thought about.'” You can also read in the Quran, Chapter 32, Verse 17: “Nobody knows the true happiness that the people of Paradise will experience.” This narration is mentioned by al-Bukhari, Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah.
Hadith No: 38 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Allah created Paradise and Hell-fire. Allah sent Gabriel to Paradise and told him to look at it and see what Allah has prepared there for its inhabitants. Gabriel saw Paradise and what Allah had prepared for its inhabitants. He went back to Allah and said that everyone who hears about Paradise will enter it. So Allah made it difficult to enter Paradise. Then Gabriel went back to Paradise and saw that it was difficult to enter. He went back to Allah and said that he fears no one will enter it. Allah told Gabriel to go to Hell-fire and see what He has prepared there for its inhabitants. Gabriel saw that Hell-fire has layers. He went back to Allah and said that no one who hears about Hell-fire will enter it. So Allah made it tempting to enter Hell-fire. Gabriel went back to Hell-fire and said that he is scared no one will escape. The word “makarih” in Arabic means things that are disliked. It refers to forms of religious discipline that are burdensome for people. This hadith was reported by Tirmidhi, who said it is a good and reliable hadith. It was also reported by Abu Dawud and an-Nasa’i.

The Messenger of Allah said that Paradise and Hell-fire argued. Hell-fire said it had powerful and arrogant people, while Paradise said it had weak and poor people. Allah decided that Paradise is his mercy and punishes those he wishes through it. He also decided that Hell-fire is his punishment and punishes those he wishes through it. Each will receive what they deserve. Muslim, al-Bukhari, and at-Tirmidhi mentioned this.
Hadith No: 40 Narrated/Authority of Abu Said Al-Khudri
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that Allah will say to the people in Paradise, “O people of Paradise! Are you happy with what I have given you?” They will respond, “O Lord, we are content because You have blessed us with more than anyone else.” Allah will then say, “Would you like me to give you something even better?” They will ask, “O Lord, what could be better than what You have already given us?” Allah will reply, “I will shower you with My favor and never be displeased with you.” This hadith was reported by al-Bukhari, Muslim, and at-Tirmidhi.
