Hadith No: 532 Narrated/Authority of Ibn Mughira

The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) wiped over his socks. He also wiped over his forehead. Additionally, he wiped over his turban.

This hadith has been transmitted by Ibn Mughira on the authority of his father by another chain of transmitters.

Hadith No: 534 Narrated/Authority of Bakr

The son of Mughira told him that the Apostle of Allah performed ablution. He wiped his forehead, turban, and socks.

Hadith No: 535 Narrated/Authority of Bilal

The Messenger of Allah wiped over the socks and turban. In a hadith transmitted by ‘Isa b. Yaunus, Bilal narrated it to me.

Hadith No: 537 Narrated/Authority of Shuraih bin Hani

I came to ‘A’isha to ask her about wiping over the socks. She said: You better ask (‘Ali) son of Abu Talib for he used to travel with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him). We asked him and he said: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) stipulated (the upper limit) of three days and three nights for a traveller and one day and one night for the resident.

Hadith No: 539 Narrated/Authority of Shuraih bin Hani

I asked ‘A’isha about wiping over the shoes. She said: You better go to ‘Ali, for he knows more about this than I. I, therefore, came to ‘Ali and he narrated from the Apostle (may peace be upon him) like this.

Hadith No: 540 Narrated/Authority of Sulayman ibn Buraida

His father told him that the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed with one ablution on the day of the Conquest of Mecca and wiped over his socks. ‘Umar said to him: “Today you did something new.” The Holy Prophet replied: “Umar, I did it on purpose.”

Hadith No: 541 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira

When anyone amongst you wakes up from sleep, he must not put his hand in the utensil till he has washed it three times, for he does not know where his hand was during the night.
