Hadith No: 234 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira

But if they do put it into practice, Allah writes from ten to seven hundred good deeds for them. When a person intends to do something bad but doesn’t actually do it, it is not recorded. However, if they do it, Allah only writes down one evil act.
Hadith No: 235 Narrated/Authority of Abu Huraira
Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, said: If a person thinks about doing something good but doesn’t actually do it, one good deed is recorded for them. However, if they do put it into practice, ten good deeds are recorded for them. If a person thinks about doing something bad but doesn’t do it, I forgive them. But if they do commit the bad act, one evil deed is recorded for them. The angels said: Your servant intends to do something bad, even though You, Lord, are more watchful than him. The Lord said: Watch him. If he commits the bad act, write it down. But if he refrains from doing it, write down one good deed for him, because he stopped himself for My sake. The Messenger of Allah said: If a person has strong faith, their good deeds are multiplied from ten to seven hundred times and are recorded for them. Their bad deeds are recorded as they are, without any increase, until they face Allah.

The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said that if someone intends to do good, but doesn’t do it, they will still get one good deed recorded. However, if they intend to do good and actually do it, they will get ten to seven hundred good deeds recorded. On the other hand, if someone intends to do something bad, but doesn’t do it, nothing is recorded. But if they actually do the bad thing, it will be recorded.

The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said that Allah records both good and evil. If someone intends to do good but doesn’t do it, Allah records one complete good in their favor. But if they intend to do good and actually do it, Allah records ten to seven hundred or more virtues to their credit. On the other hand, if someone intends to do evil but doesn’t do it, Allah records one good in their favor. But if they intend to do evil and actually do it, Allah records one evil against them.

He and another person both claimed a piece of land in Yemen. They brought the dispute to the Prophet, who asked if they had any evidence. Ash’ath b. Qais said no, so the Prophet said the decision would be based on an oath. Ash’ath b. Qais knew the other person would lie in his oath, so the Prophet said that someone who lies to take a Muslim’s property will face Allah’s anger. He has no right to it.” The Messenger of Allah asked the person from Hadramaut if he had any evidence. He said no. The Messenger of Allah said, “Then we will decide based on his oath.” The person from Hadramaut said, “He is a liar and doesn’t care about anything.” The Messenger of Allah said, “Then there is no other way to help you.” The person from Kinda went to take an oath. When he turned his back, the Messenger of Allah said, “If he takes an oath to steal the land, he will face his Lord turning away from him.”

The Messenger of Allah asked Imru’l-Qais if he had any evidence to support his claim, but he had none. So the Messenger of Allah said that Rabi’a would have to take an oath to prove his innocence. Imru’l-Qais protested, saying that Rabi’a would just take the land for himself. But the Messenger of Allah said there was no other option. When Rabi’a stood up to take the oath, the Messenger of Allah warned that Allah would be angry with anyone who wrongfully took someone else’s land. It should be noted that some versions of this story mention Rabi’a b. ‘Aidan instead of Rabi’a b. ‘Ibdan.

Hadith No: 265 Narrated/Authority of Hudhaifa
The Messenger of Allah told us two ahadith. I have seen one come true, and I am waiting for the other. He said: Trustworthiness was in people’s hearts. Then the Qur’an and the Sunnah were revealed, and people learned from them. Then he told us about trustworthiness being taken away. He said: A person would sleep and trustworthiness would be taken away, leaving a faint mark. They would sleep again and trustworthiness would be taken away, leaving a blister. It would be like rolling an ember on your foot. The blister would be empty. Then the Holy Prophet took a pebble and rolled it on his foot. He said: People would do business with each other, but few would return what they were entrusted with. There would be a shortage of honest people. People would say: “There is a trustworthy person in that tribe.” They would also say about someone: “How smart and open-minded he is,” but he would not even have faith the size of a mustard seed in his heart. There was a time when I didn’t care who I did business with, because if they were Muslim, they would fulfill their obligations to me because of their faith, and if they were Christian or Jewish, the ruler would make them fulfill their obligations to me. But now, I would only do business with a specific person.

This will create two types of hearts: one pure and strong, unaffected by any turmoil or temptation, and the other dark and confused, unable to distinguish good from bad, consumed by passion.'” Hudhaifa said, “I told Umar, ‘There is a closed door between you and that turmoil, but it may be broken.'” Umar asked, “Will it be broken?” I replied, “Yes, it will be broken.” I also told him, “The door represents a person who will be killed or die. There is no mistake in this hadith.” Abu Khalid asked Sa’d, “What does ‘Aswad Murbadda’ mean?” Sa’d replied, “It means a high degree of whiteness in blackness.” Abu Khalid then asked, “What does ‘Alkoozu Mujakhiyyan’ mean?” Sa’d replied, “It means a vessel turned upside down.”

Sa’d asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) why he didn’t give something to a specific person. Sa’d thought that person was a believer. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) asked if the person was a Muslim. Sa’d stayed quiet for a while but then felt compelled to speak again. They will receive double rewards. The second group is slaves who fulfill their obligations to Allah and their masters. They will also receive double rewards. The third group is men who have slaves, feed them well, teach them good manners, free them, and then marry them. They will receive double rewards.” Sha’bi then said: “Accept this hadith as it is. It goes back and continues emerging from its rising place. It glides until it reaches its resting place again and falls prostrate. It stays in that position until it is commanded: Rise and return to where you came from. It returns and emerges from its rising place and continues to glide in a normal manner, without anything unusual being noticed by people, until it reaches its resting place under the Throne. Then it is commanded: Rise and come out from the place of your setting, and it rises from its setting place. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do you know when this will happen?
